This
movie is basically about a bug named Flik who is a really innovative
ant. Even when his friends did not like his innovations, he still
confident with himself to change their future. Actually, the ants
were ordered by Hopper, the leader or the grasshopper community to
collect food for them for winter. So Flik wanted to help his
community by his awesome inventions. However, one day he made a
mistake, causing all the food collected fall into the river. Hopper
was really mad when he found no food for them but he gave the bugs
another chance before the winter came. Flik was really guilty so he
decided to search for warrior bugs to fight against the grasshoppers
instead of serving them. Yes, he finally brought back some bugs
before he knew that they were actually circus bugs. However, Flik's
judicious idea worked with help of the circus bugs and others. They
worked together to build a fake bird to scare the grasshoppers.
Lastly, Hopper was eaten by a real bird and they lived peacefully
forever.
It's
a very interesting movie indeed. I eminently love it because I get to
know more about how the life of bugs goes. As all of us know, they
have their own queen and princess. I don't know this is true or not
but the royal family of the ants as shown in the movie have their own
wings! The bugs also had their own city, made up of trashes such as
boxes and cans. So, don't litter if you don't want your place to be
the city of bugs!

There
are many lessons that I have learned from the movie A Bug's Life. One
of the most important lesson, be INNOVATIVE! We should make Flik as
an idol to demonstrate this lesson. In the modern days, it is really
important to invent things to make life easier. Most of the inventors
will actually get high demand, especially when the inventions are
registered for patent. Do you know what is patent? When somebody's
inventions already have patent, no one can copy their design, except
they pay to the person. So, it is better to immediately register it
once you figure out an idea before somebody else take it! Also, don't
really care about the useless comments by people. You should be
confident of yourself! Remember, if people are trying to bring you
down, it only means that you are above them. Beginning with just a
small seed, it can grow into an enormous tree which its fruit,
leaves, branches and roots are beneficial for the creatures.
I
believe this material is really suitable to Malaysians in order to
achieve Wawasan 2020. The government encourages people to become
innovative so that our country will be leading in the Science and
Technology sector.
One
main problem I encountered in this movie was bullies. In the reality,
it often happens in schools where seniors bullied the juniors. In
this movie, the grasshoppers act as if they were the most powerful
bugs there. They forced the ants to find food for them, which is
really cruel. I think they should organize a body to help against the
bullies such as police. The police will catch and punish any bugs who
act violently towards others.
Because
of its interesting storyline and lessons, I really recommends this
movie to people who haven't watched it yet. Eventhough it is an
animation and published by Disney, not only children can watch it.
Most animations are suitable for all ages and they are actually fun!
Surely
I will watch this movie again because it is the best movie I've ever
watched! The innovative Flik, the funny circus bugs, Princess Anna
(which became Queen Anna at last) and all the characters really made
me enjoy it! I hope that more movies like this movie will be
published by Malaysians. :)
*Words I learned:
- Voila! -- There it is / There you are
eg: "Let's walk straight on and, voila!" - Bartender -- A person who mixes and serves drinks at a bar
eg: The bartender is trying to run away from the drunken man. - Ingrate -- An ungrateful person
eg: We should not be an ingrate so that people will respect us.
