The
Traitors, a novel full of action. Adam Wilson was taken to a world
for the traitors! He was accused to betray his own best friend, Danny
for an incident related to his girlfriend. Adam was flabbergasted
when a letter was sent to him that he was going to The Dial, a prison
for the traitors. He tried to stay away from being caught, but the
people always followed him anywhere he went. Once he took a walk
along the shoreline, suddenly some men ran after him, trying to catch
him. He ran and ran and ran when he accidentally tripped over a rock
and finally being caught. Mr Pitt was the one he saw once he woke up.
Mr Pitt was one of the wardens there, a really fierce warden. Most of
people there were scared of him. Adam's first meeting with Mr Pitt
didn't go nice. His questions and attitude really boiled him up.
After that meeting, Adam was always targetted by Mr Pitt even when he
did a little mess up. At the same time, Adam also planned to actually
destroy The Dial. All that he knew was the commander was the one who
control the 'door' to the outside world. At last, Adam managed to
open it and let others free including the wardens. Mr Pitt was killed
though when he accidentally fell off from an air balloon. However,
the ending was quite surprising. Adam stayed in The Dial with a girl
who didn't want to go home.
So, what
did I learn from this story? First of all, of course, never betray
your friends especially your best friend. We don't want to be like
Adam Wilson, do we? Trapped in The Dial for a long time. I mean, if
even The Dial does not exist, we did not want to be left by our
friends and stay alone, right? Therefore, appreciate your friends.
Next, be confident of yourselves. Adam Wilson was really brave to
protect himself in front of the 'scary' Mr Pitt. He even have poured
some water on Mr Pitt's head, causing him to beat Adam violently.
However, that action really opened others mind on the true
personality of Mr Pitt, which nearly made him to be fired. I really
respect his bravery that I'm sure if I was him, I'll never do it.
If I was
Adam Wilson, I think I would not just let the chance of getting way
from The Dial. Even though The Dial became peaceful without Mr Pitt,
the place would still remind me of the bad experiences there. It is
better to just come back home and live happily with my own family.
It's just my own opinion.
This
material actually reflects our world current situation where people
are killing and fighting in some wars such as in North Korea,
Ukraine, Egypt and Palestine. Blood is like everywhere. The sound of
bombs and bullets reached their ears every day as if they were their
daily music. Smoke filled their clean air. All of this actually come
from the traitors. They were trying to split the bonds between people
there until it turns to a war. War is really bad as it will cause
millions of people die, buildings are destroyed and lots of money
should be spent to build again the city.
For me, I
will read it again because it is quite interesting which the author
have a great imagination on The Dial. The story line is also great. I
recommend others to read this book also.
